Me109 Aircraft Wreckage Cuff - WWII Aluminum - Size L
Me109 Aircraft Wreckage Cuff - WWII Aluminum - Size L
This cuff is created from salvaged aluminum off a Messerschmitt BF109 fighter (or “ME 109”, as it was named by the Allies). The plane serial# 611008 was shot down by U.S. allied flak while flying reconnaissance over a remote area of Schoenberg, Germany in the spring of 1945. The pilot bailed out but passed from his injuries. The plane itself was lost for almost 70 years and found in 2014 by hikers whom reported it to authorities. The wreck was then salvaged in 2014 by a trained team hired by the german authorities to safely remove the wreck and any live munitions and weapons. I purchased the wreck for art shortly after. Certificate of authenticity included.
