These cuffs are forged from a late 1890s Victorian lamp “font” or hanger. It would have supported the frosted glass shade and the oil or kerosene pot. They fell out of use with electrification in the early 1900s. I have cut a section and carefully formed and polished it to fit comfortably. It is made from a bronze or red brass alloy consisting of mostly copper with some tin or zinc.
